Disclosure: PenPal makes this page, and PenPal is one of the apps on it. Every claim about another app links to that app’s own App Store listing or website, and where we could not confirm a feature we wrote “not stated” instead of guessing. We checked everything on November 8, 2026.
Short answer: The best Shotsy alternative depends on what you want more of. PenPal puts meals, protein and fiber next to your doses, with a penguin that keeps logging light. MeAgain and Pep lean into food logging and progress photos. Glapp focuses on your dose cycle and supply. Glippy keeps things to one simple daily check-in. All five log shots and side effects the way Shotsy does.
Shotsy alternatives at a glance
Most people looking for an app like Shotsy want the same dependable shot log, plus one thing Shotsy does not put at the center: food and protein, a gentler daily nudge, a different kind of report, or a different look. Start with the column that matters most to you. “Not stated” means we could not find the feature on the app’s listing or website, not that the app lacks it.

The alternatives, one by one
1. PenPal: best for meals, protein and a gentler daily log
PenPal logs shots and pills on weekly, daily or custom schedules, with reminders, an estimated medication level and a body map for injection sites. Where it differs from Shotsy is the rest of the day: snap a photo of your plate or scan a barcode and PenPal estimates the protein and fiber, next to water, a side effect diary and your dose on one Today screen.
A penguin reacts to what you log and never scolds. Missed a day? The streak freezes instead of breaking. When an appointment comes up, the PDF progress report covers the dates you choose: doses, weight, side effects, nutrition, water and activity. It also tracks your pen supply, works with Apple Health and speaks 29 languages. It is iPhone only.
2. MeAgain: best for food logging and progress photos
MeAgain logs shots and pills, dose timing and injection sites, with reminders and medication-level context. Food logging uses photos, barcodes and search, and it tracks protein, fiber and water. It adds a side effect journal, a weight trend, progress photos, Journey Cards, widgets and an AI companion called Capy. We found no doctor report or export on its listing or website. It runs on iPhone and Android. (App Store, website)
3. Glapp: best for dose cycles and supply
Glapp logs each shot with dose, timing and site, plus a daily check-in for side effects, cravings, mood, energy and sleep. Its focus is the dose cycle: an estimated medication level curve, “shot phases,” and food noise and hunger tracking. It has the most detailed supply tracker we saw, with vials, pens, concentration and beyond-use dates. We found no meal or protein logging on its listing or website. It runs on iPhone and Android. (App Store, website)
4. Pep: best for food scanning and body measurements
Pep logs weekly shots and daily pills, with reminders, site rotation, dose history and an estimated medication level. It has an AI photo food scanner plus barcode and search, with goals for protein, fiber and water, and it tracks weight, body measurements and progress photos. It makes Progress Cards to save or share; we found no doctor report or export. It runs on iPhone, iPad and Android. (App Store, website)
5. Glippy: best for a simple daily check-in
Glippy keeps things simple. A daily check-in records weight, calories, protein, water and side effects, and it has dose reminders and charts that line up side effects with shot days. Like Shotsy, it lists CSV export as well as PDF, and it has a community for questions and wins. We found no site rotation or medication level estimate on its listing or website. It runs on iPhone and Android. (App Store, website)
PenPal vs Shotsy
Weighing PenPal against Shotsy directly? Both cover the core of a GLP-1 log: doses on a schedule, reminders, an estimated medication level, side effects, weight and a PDF for appointments. The differences are in food logging, how the app feels day to day, and platforms.

How to choose
- “Eating enough protein and fiber is my struggle.” Try PenPal, MeAgain or Pep; all three log both, with photo and barcode entry.
- “Logging feels like homework.” PenPal’s penguin and freezing streaks are made for exactly this.
- “I want something to show my doctor.” PenPal makes a PDF for the dates you pick; Glippy exports PDF and CSV; Glapp Max makes a weekly report.
- “I want to understand my dose week.” Glapp leans hardest into shot phases and food noise.
- “I’m on Android.” MeAgain, Glapp, Pep and Glippy are on Google Play. PenPal is not.
Whichever you pick, a tracker records what you and your clinician decided; it should never tell you what dose to take. How GLP-1 tracking apps work explains where that line is, and our comparison of six GLP-1 tracker apps puts Shotsy in the same table as the rest.
