About PenPal

A friend for the GLP-1 journey.

PenPal is a GLP-1 companion for iPhone, made for one thing: making life on a GLP-1 easier to track, understand and celebrate.

Why PenPal exists

Shot day deserved its own app.

Life on a GLP-1 comes with a lot to keep track of: which dose, which day, which injection site, whether you’ve had enough protein and fiber, and how your body is responding. General health trackers weren’t built around any of that.

PenPal is. It’s made for people on GLP-1 medications, with a shot log and reminders, an estimated medication level, meal logging that keeps an eye on protein & fiber, a side-effect diary and progress you can actually feel. It all lives in one place, so there’s less to juggle and more room to feel like yourself.

And because long routines are easier with company, PenPal comes with a penguin pal who notices every win, on the scale and off it.

How PenPal talks

A friend, not a clipboard.

Every word in the app follows a few simple rules. Warm, a little witty, never preachy.

  1. Empathetic, not pitying

Not“You reported nausea. Poor thing.”But“Ugh, the nausea hits hard. Sip some ice water and hang in there.”

  2. Smart, not clinical

    Not“Medication adherence is 85%.”But“You haven’t missed a shot in 6 weeks. Legend.”

  3. Cheerleader, not drill sergeant

Not“You missed your log yesterday. Incomplete data.”But“Missed yesterday? No stress. Let’s get back to it.”

  4. And never

    • Diet-culture shaming
    • Scare tactics
    • Robot speak
    • Toxic positivity

Privacy

Your data stays yours.

A health app should earn your trust, not spend it. Here’s the short version; the Privacy Policy has the rest.

  • Never sold, never used for ads

Your health data is never sold or used for advertising.

  • Apple Health stays on your iPhone

If you connect Apple Health, that data stays on your device and isn’t uploaded to PenPal’s servers.

  • Reports go where you send them

You pick the dates and what to include in a PDF report, and you decide whether to share it, and with whom.

  • Leave whenever you like

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.

Know the limits

What PenPal is, and isn’t.

PenPal is

  • A GLP-1 tracking companion for iPhone
  • A shot log with reminders and injection-site history
  • An estimated medication level, built from the doses you log
  • A place for meals, side effects, weight and progress
  • A PDF report you can bring to an appointment

PenPal isn’t

  • A doctor, a pharmacy or a prescribing service
  • A diagnosis or a way to tell what caused a symptom
  • A lab result: medication levels are estimates
  • A reason to repeat, delay or change a dose
  • A replacement for your care plan or your clinician

Our guides

How we write about health.

Our guides answer practical questions about keeping a record, not about treatment. When a guide touches on medication use or symptoms, it links to public-health and medicine-information sources such as NIDDK, MedlinePlus and the FDA, and it keeps an app estimate clearly apart from a clinical measurement.

We don’t publish invented user counts, promised results or testimonials dressed up as evidence. Product claims match what the app actually does. Articles show when they were published and last updated.
